Seedpod Silhouette

My get pushed challenge by Emmy this week was a silhouette.

Have spent the weekend at the Outer Banks in NC and will backfill this past week with a few shots from the weekend. This shot was from the bear hunt we went on in Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge. Supposedly there are bears, red wolves, and alligators to be seen. BEARS???? At the beach??? Lo and behold, WE SAW A BEAR!!! Side of the road, standing on a broken down bridge, overlooking the swampy river water, driving 60 mph, no shoulder on the road, traffic ... and dh wouldn't stop for the shot!!!! What's wrong with him???? Doesn't he realize that's the shot that would sell and make us millionaires???

Oh well. We drove on and took a particular road that we were told was frequented by a mama bear and her cubs. Don't get out of the car, we were told. Paranoid and jumpy as I was, I still got out of the car and caught this shot. Never did see any more bears, tho. Or alligators. Or red wolves. Such is life.

Sitting in my camping chair trying to process this shot (and a couple others) with the bright morning sun shining on me, so kind of a pot shot as to how this photo turns out in the real world.
