Forks vs Gravity by shesnapped

Forks vs Gravity

For my get-pushed challenge this week (and last week too as it so happened), Sally challenged me to take a still life photo using everyday items. Still lifes are NOT my strongpoint, so this has definitely been a challenge. And the first challenge was coming up with an idea! So, I googled a little bit and came up with a couple ideas.

Two major challenges on this shot were:
1. Fighting the force of gravity with those forks! Everyone in my household was instructed NOT to breathe, and the cats were nearly banned from the first floor.
2. Getting the marbles in the same place at the same time. Several of the shots came out well, then had to be reshot because the marbles were not in the same spot in relation to the tines of the forks.

But here it is. There were only two Photoshopping actions here. One was spot removal. Not sure if it was dust on my lens, or dust on the mirror, but there were a lot of spots!!! And the other tweak was increasing the blue saturation of the marbles. They lacked the intensity I was hoping for.
