First shot of the day by shesnapped

First shot of the day

And it was the clearest one I got all day!

Woke up at Chincoteague this morning, and this guy shared our morning coffee time.

Note to the side: air mattresses tend to get really cold when the air outside the tent is also cold. Lesson learned at 2am. Still felt it at 3am, still at 4am, and at 5am these bones moved to the car. :-/
How cool!

Great shot of coffee buddy. Being cold and old is just absolutely NO fun.

Great shot - so glad you are keeping your camera close by and (mostly) posting on a daily basis.
I tend to miss weekends when i am really busy and do catch-up on Monday mornings.

@farmreporter Thanks Wendy! I usually do have my camera close, but processing and posting tend to get behind. Dh and I went camping this weekend, and I took over 1,000 shots. Seriously. I go thru them before importing to LR, and sometimes that's as far as I get. My favorite shots will invariably be the ones that didn't focus right. I'm trying to learn to relax and not hold my camera with that adrenaline-induced death grip I get when the shot-of-a-lifetime comes by. Even after 3 years of continuous shooting, focus is still a huge issue! So is judging when a shot is too far away. Ugh!!!! I have some fantastic shots of a juvenile egret and heron from yesterday that are absolutely hilarious, but not a one of them is in focus. It's so disheartening!

We're headed to Maine in 3 weeks, and my girlfriend has loaned me her very nice Canon 100-400 lens, the expensive cream colored one, for the trip. I'm working on taking as many shots as possible, concentrating on stance, tension, breathing, slowing down, and focusing. Of course, Maine will have nothing BUT once in a lifetime shots, and I want to get them ALL! No pressure!!! :-/
