Babies meet a pig

My hometown (for a lot of years) is considered the BBQ Capitol of the whole wide world. Or so we believe, anyway. Nonetheless, their BBQ has put them on the map. Even had a sitting president come eat it once, tho I don't remember which one.

Some years ago, as part of a downtown revitalization project, some local artists began painting and personalizing these fiberglass pigs. Any business or organization can sponsor one for $1,000, and they keep them on display pretty much the whole year, either inside or outside, their choice. But on Barbecue Festival day in October each year, all pigs are outside hamming it up for the cause! :-)

Since this was something that began after I moved away, and I haven't been to the festival in more than 15 years, it has become sort of a treasure hunt for me to discover them whenever I'm in town. I was pleasantly surprised to find one this morning when I took the babies to the local farmer's market which is located in the old train depot. The babies seemed to be enchanted with him as well!

As they say, the best camera is the one you have with you, so thank you iPhone.

I am learning that your words about the camera are so very true. I am leaning to say "never under estimate a cell shot". Looks like the little ones had a good time too.
