To day was the day of the sale following on from yesterdays show. We did sell our bull Jasper, who now has a new home in Berwick-on-Tweed. Hopefully they will look after him and he will get lots of lovely calves for them. It is our daughter who is leading Jasper in the ring.

It is always a sad time when we sell our pure bred animals because we work quite a lot with them. On the other hand it is satisfying to sell them knowing you have bred and reared something good. The British Blue cattle society have minimum height and weight criteria for each age group for sales (hence the inspections the day before). If an animal does not reach the criteria they are not allowed to be sold at the sale. Jasper was 209 kg above the minimum weight and 6 cm above the minimum height. He also looks big here because our daughter is not very tall.
