Dragonfly

We don't have many dragonflies around here so you can imagine my delight when my hubby came down to the house and told me to get my camera and follow him. This is what he led me to. It was hanging on to a single stem of straw sticking out of a big bale in the barn. It never moved and was still there 2 hours later when I went up to have a look.

I was so excited to see this when my husband showed me because we don't normally get them around here. Stef I looked it up on the internet and think it is a southern hawker dragonfly.
