Today's trip out took us to Thorp Perrow Arboretum, which covers 100 acres. There are 5 National Plant Collections and 67 Champion Trees (recorded in the Tree Register of the British Isles) here. It was the creation of Sir Leonard Ropner (1895-1977) and is still owned by the same family. It is a beautiful peaceful place where you can wander and admire the magnificent tree or just sit on one of the many seats and enjoy the tranquillity.
