Hosta Leaves

It's funny how sometimes a photograph will come out of nowhere. I planned on returning to get some shots of the rhododendron bush that I took a couple days ago only this time with the flowers open. As I approached the bush I spotted some Lilies of The Valley. I was trying to get some shots of them when I glanced to the side and saw these hostas and I immediately thought they would be a good candidate for a b/w photograph. When I got home and perused my shots for the day the hostas won me over.

This turned out beautifully Skip....very artsy! I often start out with an idea of which photo I'm going to use and more often than not I end up going off in some direction I never intended with a picture I hadn't even planned on using. Love the compositon, love the b/w and your framing is perfect! Fav!

You've got your pure blacks in the shadows here. Would love to see you push up your whites just enough to get your pure whites in the highlights.
