I was going to the garage and the leaves on our Baby's Breath were sporting their Autumn colors. I maneuvered myself so I could shoot into the open garage to get the black background with a little bit of highlight to make out the branches.
Baby's Breath as in those darling tiny white flowers they use in arrangements as filler? I didn't know they had leaves and for sure never knew that they changed color and were so pretty! great shot...the black background is perfect for them
@lynnb - Thank you very much Lynn!! I stumbled upon that by accident years ago when I had a film camera and everybody raved about the black background and they asked how I did it. So now I have trained myself to look and see if there is an angle I can shoot from so there is a dark background. Usually it is a shady area behind the subject. With the flowers being in full sun or out in the open, it causes the shady area to be much darker.
@vickisfotos - Thank you Vicki!! This is a woody bush and the flowers look like the baby's breath they use in arrangements. Here is a link to the flowers I took earlier in the year http://365project.org/skipt07/365/2012-03-30
