I knew that the term, "Blue Moon" wasn't a literal one, but being that having two full moons in the same month hasn't happened since 2012, I thought I'd try to capture the event. I talked my wife into going for a ride to a place that has a fairly decent view of the horizon. Not knowing where the moon would make its appearance I started looking for apps for my smartphone that would show me where. I found an app on Play Store that looked promising. "MoonTrajectory.net" I got it loaded and was scaning the horizon with my phone when the trajectory appeared on the screen. I had my camera mounted on my tripod so I grabbed it and walked across the road to be clear of telephone and power lines when the moon made its appearance above the tree line. I thought I'd leave the farm buildings in the picture for scale. And no the "Blue Moon" wasn't blue after all.
Great capture - my shot of the blue moon wasn't blue either - looked white to me so I gave it a sepia tint to make it more interesting. I like the buildings in this.
