The Confederates had 3 cannons to the Yankees one. I was within close range of the three cannons The cannon to the left of this one was larger and much louder but partially hidden by a tree. I liked this picture as the smoke hadn't completely cleared and the number 2 man wormed out the barrel to clean out debris. Next, the number 1 man, at left, inserts a wet sponge on a pole to clean out any burning embers to prevent an accidental discharge after reloading.
