They Do Exist!

Buhl Farm Park held its annual Winter Fest today. It was very cold but there was no snow for sled riding or snowman making. One family brought their dog team of Siberian Huskies and a mushing sled, but without snow there we no demos. A local family that makes maple syrup was selling their product as well as showing the maple syrup making process. We did see a wood caver and some of his work on display like this Yeti/Sasquatch/Big Foot that was pretty impressive. It was on the back of a truck with a trailer behind so I was restricted in getting a face picture. I even got my picture taken with him starting a new project.
Great capture and I love your title. Sounds like a fun festival, too.

@casablanca - One day you'll have to try maple syrup from Pennsylvania! I am guessing that it was 7-8 feet (2.1-2.44 meters) tall.

@skipt07 That sounds like an idea I can't refuse! Never yet been, but will one of these days......I have a friend who lives in Trevorton! Long way from my corner of England.

That's quite a carving. I have a friend who carves with chainsaws in NC.

@casablanca - I looked up Trevorton and found that it is about 4 hours from where I live. 230 miles (370 k).

@skipt07 I just looked it up and saw how many thousands of square miles the state is! Substantial!

That winter fest sounds like a lot of fun! I can't believe the detail in that wood carving, its beautiful! It would have been really nice to have some snow and see the sleds dog team in action!

@casablanca - Pennsylvania is 283 miles wide and we live only 10 miles from the Ohio border.
