This is our Amish neighbor's two oldest children, Steve and Sally, breaking up the dirt on a freshly plowed field.

@777margo - It is Spring so they take it easy on the horses. There are three horses and they take a break at the end of the field after each pass.

I can hardly believe some plowing is still done like this. Great capture!

@jb030958 - Of course, this way of plowing takes longer, but then they can get into their fields earlier especially after the winter thaw or if we get a lot of rain. Modern-day tractors are so heavy and even if they have four-wheel drive they can still get stuck. Not this way.
