Day 20 - Winter Reflection by snaggy

Day 20 - Winter Reflection

Bit of a cheat this one as I took it yesterday, but of the shots I took today, nothing came close to this.
This is the old canal in Castelefields River Park in Calne Wilts.
Great composition and symmetry. Used to be a Devizes boy, we'd dream of living in Calne ;-)

@ch1ppy_m1nton Hmm, not from Wilts myself, but I think you might be pulling my leg on that one....
Thanks for the comments anyway!

Nice reflection. Isn't there a chalk white horse somewhere nearby Calne? (along with Silbury HIll, Avebury, Woodhenge etc)

Like the reflections and the symmetry, Kev. Less keen on the scum.... ;)

@steampowered Hi Paul, yes, indeed, on Cherhill Down. In fact Tom above has just done a panorama of it, by coincidence!

@snaggy I used to while away many hours in Wilts checking out the chalk horses as part of a computer quiz / adventure called "Pi-mania". I can recall having a few pints of Wadworths 6X in Devizes and then climbing up to the Landsdowne monument right by the horse at the hottest part of a July day to see if the sign on the gate nearby was a clue. It read "Keep out. Danger of falling masonry" or something as innocuous! Needless to say I didn't win the prize for the quiz.

@steampowered LOL. Well, theres scaffolding around it now and has been for some time so I presume there trying to repair it - certainly isn't as photogenic as it was. I've added a shot of the top of monument in my second album taken in summer last year so you can see how bad it's looking.

@snaggy Thanks Kev. Yes, I saw the pic this morning and it was definitely looking as bad as it did all those years back. It would be a shame to see it disappear through neglect.
