@ch1ppy_m1nton Yeah, does look a bit like that Chippy. I actually bracketed and had three exposures but failed dismally to put them together as a gentle HDR in PS. Consequently, I had to go with the normally exposed shot which has an overexposed sky - and a blown out sun.
This is beginning to annoy me actually, and I'm thinking about trying Photomatix as PS just doesn't seem to do what I want and I do quite a lot of these. I also need to think about using some ND Grads as well.

@snaggy I had circular grads and nd but in the end went for a cheap but pretty damned good value for money one of these recently ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009GTRDSI/ref=oh_details_o06_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) new filters are then easily added and it covers more lens sizes.
I find the setting sun and combined auto bracket shots always look a bit weird like this, didn't think it was PS, but maybe you're right.
