Don't get many of these lying around in Wiltshire - they tend to get snapped up and renovated pretty quick by enthusiasts. This one was outside a farm in Dauntsey.
Interesting old workhorse Kev. I like the composition, and the selective colour; but I'm not 100% on the colour if I'm honest. Maybe it's because it's such a large part of the picture so the effect is lost a bit for me. Equally though I like how the b&w emphasises the tired old look. You know what I'm going to say next - I'd love to see this in B&W or maybe even sepia, really add to the old "left outside and forgotten" feel...nice shot though, nostalgic...
The selective toning is superb Kev and really suits the subject and content : we have a vintage tractor rally heading this way over the Bank holiday so will be snapping away there
@chezza@joeboo@paul2782@eevarita@tomo87@sturnus@padlock@jaynspain@megmills@cathieg@eyesmile@ridley Thanks you all for the kind comments. this was one of those shots where I knew I had a great subject but it@s location wasn't great. I took it from all angles to try and the background but largely to no avail. So actually, it's not really selective colour - I just desaturated the greenery which was just far too distracting. As Tom suggested, I tried b&w, sepia, you name it, but there's far too much going on in the background.
@ch1ppy_m1nton Cheers, Chippy. Just loved the old tractor - wished I cold have got a better background - may go back on a sunnier day and get a real low pov looking up!
