This is the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, London. I was lucky enough to spend seven weeks here as a graduate engineer in the 80's on a course with a group of young Naval Officers and had a whale of a time.
Built by Christoper Wren over three hundred years ago, originally as a hospital for seamen, then as a college for the last hundred years, it was sold off in the 90s (?). It is now a World Heritage Site and is now largely open to the public.
It is a quarter of a century since I have last set foot in the College, and it was great to go back - once again inspired by 365.
This is a shot of one of the two signature domes taken from the opposite side colonnade.
Such a beautiful place and you've done it justice here Kev. Love how you've caught that wonderful dome between the pillars and the little rectangle of blue sky at the end of the colonnade. Also you have controlled the contrast very well, with the light outside beautifully exposed as well as the roof of the walkway. Great image and a fav from me.
Wow!Amazing composition.Love how you framed the beautiful college building and still left a strong interest in the foreground.Awesome pov and exposition!
