Tucked up against the walls of Ludlow castle, this Elizabethan mansion is said to have more oak panelling than any other house in England. Dates from the 13th century and rebuilt 1580.Visitors at Castle lodge have reported the apparition of a young girl in Tudor costume, who walks these attic corridors and the nursery. The spirit is believed to be that of Catherine of Aragon.
Wooooo! Love it!! I don't recall this mansion tucked up by the castle, have I been there, if I have I must've forgotten and will have to go back! This def looks a very likely place for a ghost to hang out!
Oh, this *is* eerie...if I were walking down that hallway alone I would be really scared some ghost was about to get me when I rounded the next corner!
Oh Diana, this is suitably eerie..but I would love to see it in person!
And I have a particular affinity for Catherine of Aragon....child bride, used as a political pawn by her parents, widow of a beloved prince, wife of a king who fought to marry her, then betrayed her, mother of a queen, woman of grace and fortitude, political liability, who finally, no doubt, died of a broken heart.
OOH! Her story breaks MY heart.
