Yesterday it was cold wet and windy with grey sky's Today it's cold dry, no wind and just look at this blue sky. I took this picture when I went to hang my washing out, The remaining leaves on this silver birch tree looked much prettier in real life
The leaves are glowing in golden lights. It is nice against the blue clear sky. . The day here do not yet change, Still very hot, and it is supposed to be close to winter.
Looks like a great day! I am fascinated with the idea that hanging laundry outdoors is still common in the UK today...is that true? I don't see many who still do that in the US unless you are in a very rural area and even then it is not that common. My mom always hung out our laundry until about the late 60s when she finally let dad talk her into getting a dryer.
My mother-in-law used to hang her sheets outside even though she had a dryer. She always said there is nothing like the smell of clean sheets that have dried outside in the sun. Great shot!
