Ramble Stone Arch, Central Park by soboy5

Ramble Stone Arch, Central Park

My son has only been living in Manhattan for six months, but he already knows many of NY's coolest spots, which made him an excellent personal tour guide! We walked most of Central Park on Sunday, and I have never seen it look nicer.

Here is the history of this really cool arch:

Nestled in a dense nook of trees and shrubbery on the west side of Central Park's Ramble, this rough stone arch has a narrow walkway on top and a footpath below. Placed in a cleft between two high rock outcrops, Ramble Arch is considered one of the most picturesque of Central Park’s bridges.

Built from boulders found in the Park, the arch measures five feet across and more than 13 feet high, with a nine-foot underpass.
Very cool! great shot

This is gorgeous. So rich and lush. It's funny how I keep seeing new places in Manhattan that I've never seen before even though I live so close. Guess I have to get out more!

@jcarrollphoto Thanks so much, Jim. I grew up in the Bronx and had never seen this arch before. In fact, most of the places my son took me to I had never seen before - Manhattan is a fascinating place full of discoveries around every corner. It was a great trip.
