Since 1910, the iconic three-pointed star has been the symbol of Mercedes Benz. It symbolizes Gottlieb Daimler's 19th century ambition for universal motorization - on land, on sea and in the air. In 1921, Mercedes Benz applied for a trademark for this hood ornament - three stars surrounded by a circle. It has been in continuous use by Mercedes Benz since that date.
About this car: the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the fundamental basics for all modern-day Mercedes-Benz cars trace their heritage back to this iconic, hand-built 250 SE of 1966. It is a design that has evolved over the past four decades and perfected with time and fine-tuning.
This is the last in my series of hood ornaments. Best viewed enlarged.
Crisp, Clean, and Classic. Love the blue tone. Something makes me wish I could see the whole rounded bottom edge of the hood mount though. Still love it
