And now on to something completely different from hood ornaments: Veronica's last mixed doubles tennis match of the season was held at the beautiful Chimney Springs neighborhood in Marietta, Georgia. This early 19th century chimney stands near the entrance of the neighborhood and is all that is left of the old farmhouse and farm that has now become a beautiful neighborhood.
This begins a 7 day series exploring the beauty of Chimney Springs, Georgia. Best viewed large.
How beautiful.....love the tones and textures in the stone work. So many of my hubby's relatives live in or near Marietta. But I've only driven through there a few times back in the 70s.
Danny, great shot! I love the texture of the stone and the color of the flowers in the foreground.
My brother-in-law lives in Marietta, GA. He's a great photographer. I'll have to ask him if he's been to Chimney Springs.
Solo chimneys always get my attention. I wonder about their story; what happened to the building, who lived there, etc. This one has that mystery, with the added attraction of beauty. Both the flowers and the stones have really nice color. This is one case where placing the chimney in the center works well because it is such a dominant object. Fav.
Viewed large is right. The textures and colors of the brick are really wonderful. I'm looking forward to this series.
