Let's take a tour of the North Campus of UGA, where all the cool old buildings and trees are located. I always start my tours at the main library (this was in yesterday's image also, but this time you can actually see it). The library is not one of the old buildings but it is the most used one on North Campus. Built in 1952 with a 1974 annex, it has 356,000 square feet of space and 4 million volumes of books. The library's annual book budget has increased over the years - in 1800, it was $1000. This year, it is $5 million. I took this image standing in front of the law school, and that will be our next stop. Best viewed large.
Oh wow, UGA!!!!! Love it. I was there in 2003 for a writer's conference. Now you gotta get some pix of the hedges at Sanford stadium, the main gate entrance, the UGA dogs memorial, the Varsity.....UGA is photo op heaven in my opinion, and would you believe I didn't bring a camera with me when we went there? Well, guess I was more involved in writing than photography back then :-)))
This is a great shot of the architecture - but I'm looking at the green in the trees.
