Chevrolet continued to refine the C2 Corvette during its 5 model years (1963-1967). The last C2, the 1967 model shown here, was the most refined of them all and many consider it the finest of all the C2 Corvettes. This fully restored 1967 roadster is the most sought after model - 427 cubic inch motor with triple carbs making 435 horsepower.
An interesting observation: as the 1960's evolved into a decade of turmoil and change, some of the Corvette's styling details also evolved with the time.
Here are two examples. First, note the whimsical, contemporary style of the cursive lettering on the Corvette's nameplate in the lower left hand corner of the collage. Now compare it with the more formal style of cursive writing on the 1963 Corvette: http://365project.org/soboy5/365/2014-08-24
Second, note the body colored, contemporary fuel fuller in the upper right hand corner of the collage. Now compare that to the original, more ornate fuel filler on the 1963 model: http://365project.org/soboy5/365/2014-08-23
These changes (along with many other styling and performance enhancements) kept the Corvette up to date throughout the mid 1960's.
haha - I knew this had to be one of your pics before I saw your name. What a lovely collage - all the pics are so clear and wonderfully focused. Colors are fab too :)
(great history, too)
