For a brief period in automotive history (1971 - 1974), one could buy this Italian supercar with a mid-engine, high performance Ford V-8 engine at Lincoln Mercury dealerships in the U.S. The Pantera was a bargain, with the same exotic good looks and high performance, but selling for less than half the price of a comparable Ferrari, Lamborghini or Maserati.
