The rare and desirable 1962 Ford Thunderbird Sports Roadster was designed for those buyers who missed the 1955 - 1957 two-seater T-Bird. A custom-made fiberglass cover fit over the rear seat area, giving the appearance of a two-seater. Twin headrests at the cover's forward edge fit perfectly over the regular front bucket seats, giving a show-car appearance. Kelsey-Hayes chrome-plated wire wheels were standard. The Sports Roadster was only offered for 1962 and 1963, making these models the most collectible (and the most valuable) of all third generation T-Birds.
