No Retail

Continuing our walking tour of downtown Apalachicola. Since we are already at Leavins Seafood (see yesterday's image), let's go inside and have a visit! Uh oh - what is this sign on their front door? "No Retail" might as well say "Keep Out". These wholesale outfits and oyster processing plants do not allow the public inside. It is not that they are unfriendly, it is just they are running a business, not a tourist destination and they do not welcome the public. This is what makes this town so interesting. Looks nice on black.
A residence? Weird.

@amandal No, Amanda - it is not a residence. It is a wholesale oyster business and an oyster processing plant located on main street.

Nicely composed, and an interesting story behind it.

Doesn't look terribly inviting to the passing shopper to be honest. Makes a great b&w shot though.

I like this detail and especially the grid windows (reinforced glass?)

Interesting narrative. And the image is perfect for b & w.

Very nice shot and info. I suppose they don't want people contaminate the oysters.

@fueast Thanks and I think that was their idea. They only sell wholesale. The vibe was most definitely "keep out".
