Halifax Explosion Anniversary by spanishliz

Halifax Explosion Anniversary

December 6, 1917 two ships, one carrying munitions, collided in Halifax, NS, harbour. The resulting explosion caused over 2000 casualties. This carillon is their memorial.
I was in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2001. I do not remember seeing either of these memorials. What a tragic accident. Nice memorial.

@gardenfolk This one is a bit off the beaten path, high up on a hill in Fort Needham Park, overlooking the area most affected by the explosion. I sought it out when I was there.
