I had to resort to a low light portrait. I like the area of light on the right. I am pretty embarrassed by this effort. I must get more organised. At least I did not resort to another Danbo shot.
Nothing wrong with Dunbo shots, hey maybe Danbo be a subject for low key portrait, just to get organised? I like low key portraits, they are mysterious and there´s a lot of mystery here too, what´s behind that expression.
@allisonraposa Thanks Allison. I was angry, annoyed and fed up. Who would have thought this would inspire a fav. I am less angry and annoyed as a result. Thank you.
@susale I tried low key with Danbo - It did not work. Running out of time and ideas was behind the expression. Thank you for taking the time to look and comment. It is always a pleasure hearing from you.
It is a bit scary but the contrast is great, and it is a very moody shot! Rather like it! I like the way the light reflects just that little bit off your eyes and parts of your face. I think sometimes we just try that little bit too hard to achieve a certain effect when we really need to be willing to examine the results of what happens by "accident".
I don't know the first thing about low key portraits or styles of photography such as Film Noir but I do think this is a very emotive image. Would it take away from what you set out to achieve if you cropped it in a bit closer but still keeping much of the light area on the right. Feel free to tell me to mind my own business, especiallly as I don't really know what I'm talking about!
@paulaw hello Paula. Thank you for your comment and ideas. I think my main issue is that I was not clear about what I was trying to achieve. I could crop and do all sorts with this but I am not that happy with it so am going to move on. Film noir is wonderful you should have a look if you get the time.
