Nemesis

Second version of this - I am still not happy with it but am going to have to leave it for now. I like some elements but have not managed to achieve what I was trying to do. This has been the hardest collage I have attempted.
@quixoticneophyte thanks for your kind words earlier - I have reshot - still not happy but I moved the bed so it is not sticking out of the picture.

Apart from this image all of my collages have been sooc so I wanted to try and keep to that as I think it adds to the random feel. This one I wanted to do in low key as it is a fugly colour.

Now I'm wishing I had left the previous one open in a tab, to be able to compare it! This looks good large, much more subtle than the last, from memory. The disjointedness and tonal difference is a lot softer here. The light is really good on this monster, creating cool shadow lines and interest.

If this is still not there for you, I really look forward to seeing the end product!

@quixoticneophyte thanks Alexander. I really appreciate your kind words and support. This is brighter and better compositionally than the other. It still is not right though.

Looks pretty awesome to me, I don't know why you're not happy though. Amazing amount of work has obviously gone into this

@ingrid2101 thanks Ingrid. I have made many attempts at this and like certain bits in each one. The problem is I cannot combine all of the bits I like into one shot. Thanks for your lovely comments.

I like how this looks :) but what is it I am looking at?

lol @ fugly colour :-) I think it looks amazing. I attempted stacking photos in Picassa, and it's much more difficult than it looks......you have to start off with a good idea, or a good series of shots, or it doesn't work, so kudos to you for an awesome image.

Why is it called nemesis I wonder....and I really can´t understand why you´re not happy with this, this is pretty cool college.

@bec2702 this is a printing press used for dry point printing. I am pleased you like it.

@allisonraposa thanks Allison for your comments and the fav. When I do the shots in always take several versions as I have had so many failures.

@susale thanks Suse. I have some that the shape is better, others with better light, others with even tones but none have all the elements together. The best one I have is ruined by the background.

Looks good to me too. I love this kind of old machines in general, and I really like the way you've captured it and rendered.
October 24th, 2013
This is really amazing! I have no idea how you do it but it's such a cool effect xx
October 24th, 2013
@channelf Thanks - Hopefully I have access to some other similar machines so I might do a series of these.

@psychographer Thanks Lisa - It really is not that difficult.

I hope you know by now that I love these shots, this one included. This one is amazingly well put together; I think I might prefer it to be slightly more out of line. Not sure if that makes any sense

@rachelwithey That makes perfect sense. It just lacks the character I was hoping to achieve. I am really pleased you like these shots. I just hope I am not overdoing them.
