The mill of Orbetello

Last survivor of nine mills built in the fifteenth century in the lagoon of Orbetello, near Monte Argentario. At the time they operated thanks to the force of the tides and were used for the production of flour from wheat.

Later mills were restored with sailing blades starting to leverage the strength of the winds.
