I'm James—Jim, to some. I'm very much looking forward to 2018, as 2017 was a success after a long hiatus. I've done this twice, now: I can do it again.

I finished my first 365 on 12/31/13, with no fillers, and of that I am proud. I posted 21 tips for incoming 365ers that I learned in my first year here: http://365project.org/discuss/tips-n-tricks/20291/21-tips-for-incoming-365ers. It seems to have resonated with others, so take a peek.

I never cease to be blown away by the positive energy of this community. To my followers and followees, I so wish I had time to keep up with all of your albums all of the time, because each and every photo you choose to post fascinates me. I realize now that that's impossible, so I've resolved to just dip into the stream whenever I can, and comment as much as possible.

I've decided to switch up my profile pic, but I'll always like this selfie best, I think, from my Wok in the Woods series: http://365project.org/squamloon/themes-and-chal/2013-02-24

More blahblahblah about who I am and why I'm here below...

I'm a high school French teacher, education transformer, and overall tech geek residing in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire.

I tend to go through hobby phases—my play-directing phase, my geocaching phase, my Scrabble phase—but throughout everything I do, I've come to realize that photography's a consistent, constant, passion. And while intuition has gleaned a lot of great pictures for me over the years, I really want to learn more about photography. I loved my (now broken) Olympus E-330, but I have to admit it was on Automatic way too much of the time.

So I just bought myself a Canon T4i, and I embark on Project 365 with high hopes. [Update: on 12/27/17 I purchased a Canon 80D!]

I know I can do it—I managed five and a half years of 12 of 12s http://www.squamloon.com/tag/favorites, and I was dogged in taking an Eiffel shot at every geocache I found http://www.flickr.com/photos/squamloon/sets/72057594125772409/. I'm also fond of my France collection. http://www.flickr.com/photos/squamloon/sets/72157594219056379/. Hopefully the next additions to that (whenever I get back there) will be all the richer after learning from all of you!

My Flickr handle is Squamloon http://www.flickr.com/photos/squamloon/collections/, I'm google.com/+JamesLeBaron, I occasionally tweet as Squamloon, I IFTTT my pics to Tumblr and go through the motions to post on Instagram but never look at them, my blogue (when I get to it) is at http://www.jameslebaronphotography.com/, and I'm https://www.facebook.com/James.LeBaron on Facebook.

I love learning from this fascinating community!
