Maid Maryanne and her Emerald Glow

JackieR is my get pushed partner this week. She challenged me to set up a shot with very sharp detail, and bokeh in the background (not added as a processing layer). I wouldn't say this has the sharpest detail, but I got the bokeh. I also mangaged to do it without actually untangling my christmas lights. I did however process this shot some. It's all one shot and one layer though.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond here's my answer to your challenge. It was fun. It's been a while since I actually took the time to set up a picture.

@30pics4jackiesdiamond I did. Like I said, I don't often set up shots, I usually just try to document something that is already happening. I've only ever accidentally done bokeh. It was cool to read up on that link you gave me about lens length and aperture. I would have thought to use the lowest number possible, but I liked the effect of finding just the right combo of focal length and aperture. I was forced to, and was happy I did, go to full manual mode to do this shot. At first I was going to cheat and just use the aperture mode.

@stephomy not cheating. I rarely use M mode( scary) . Bokeh from light through leaves on outdoor shots is good to try!!

@jaycrow Thanks. It helped that I had a very patient model.

@kali66 She had an accident during her trip from Ohio to Seattle.
