Stands out slightly better on black if you have time :)
Tonight Alexis is at mine, and I have had the day with her doing fairly normal things...making her mum an early birthday card (might even be earlier than the one she makes with her step-dad! :), baking a banana cake, playing catch in the house, playing chase in the house, playing in the park and chilling in front of the telly.
During the afternoon I took a bunch of images of her, and I struggled to choose which one to use for today's pic - some I am happy with from an arty point of view, but this one stood out at the start as just a normal but fantastic image of my little girl, for me at least. Even though she's pulling an odd pose (unintentionally) I just love how her hair looks, and how her eyes pop. The next hardest thing was tweaking it and deciding on a look, using RGB curves. I settled on the Red channel curve with the greens pulled down in the shadows and the reds pushed in the highlights.
Of course I am biased and I hope not to sound self-indulgent or like I am showing her off and claiming her to be anything she isn't but I am always looking her thinking she's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
I know I am no different to how all parents think about their children. I suppose I think of it quite a lot given I don't live with her, so time is precious when I am around her :)
