On the second night of my week away in France I decided I had to get into Paris and get up the Eiffel Tower. I was staying in a hotel only a few miles away so it was a trip I had to make. I spent many holidays in France as a child with my family and was lucky enough to go up the tower 3 times, but the last time was nearly 20 years ago.
My colleague decided it would be an opportunity missed too, so after a quick bus ride to La Defense, we jumped on the Metro to the Eiffel Tower and went to the top.
I was a lovely, calm and warm evening so the view was awesome. I've not seen it with all the twinkly lights that fire up every hour, and the blue beam of light that goes round wasn't there when I last visited so it was good to see it again.
We finished the evening at a little restaurant under the metro stop, with Stella Artois and good food. A great evening.
I did appreciate your commentary about this famous icon and the beautiful city of Paris! Been there and done that but did NOT get a good photo like this!
