I got back from Ireland on Monday os this week, and on the Tuesday enjoyed my first full day off for a few weeks. As ever I got on the tube and headed into London, got off at Marble Arch and slowly headed to an exhibition at Silverprint in Elephant & Castle on foot, via Soho for coffee, Trafalgar Square, Whitehall, Westminster, then across the river to Elephant.
I stopped off to look at the Household Cavalry guards in Whitehall to see if I could come up with something. I think 'not really' is the answer but I was trying to just pick off details of the horse and guard rather than the normal touristy wide shot. I think it's cool that the horse stays relatively still for such long periods and I was thinking about this a lot when looking at how it stood there while members of the public stood by for photo after photo.
I also liked the detail in the uniform and in particular the shine of the boots of these guys. Very disciplined and a good example they set to everyone IMHO.
