This is a shot of the sunset at a little place on the outskirts of the next village to me, a place called Burgh Castle - the Burgh is pronounced 'borough'.
I had the idea of some reeds in the foreground as I wanted to try and play around with paintbrushes in post to bring out dark and underexposed foreground, which I did try but it ended up looking a little OTT the over-cranked; a bit too HDR-y which is never good. I also didn't like the location I used for it which included a rather untidy path.
This is a shot I grabbed on the way to the path location, which ended up looking way better, due to its simplicity.
3 good things:
1 - A long lie in...followed by hours yesterday spent online watching photography tutorials.
2 - A great run last night round my village and the next village, totalling 5.87 miles through the dark countryside helped by the light of the moon and the stars. It was rather awesome!
3 - Getting my tickets for the Megabus booked for work in London next week.
Really like this capture. Fabulous colors. I notice you do some running. I also run, and am finding either morning or twilight runs end with getting my pictures, and i'm having fun with that due to the light at those times.
@mtnrunner Hi Bret...apologies for the delay in replying...life is a little manic at the moment. I do run although had a little break over the last two weeks due to travelling with work. I haven;t taken my gear with me though because I don;t like running with a backpack but it would be handy to sometimes especially when the view is there for the taking.
Thank you for looking at my gallery and for the comments! :)
