The Great Crested Grebes at Priory Park always seem to catch for the camera when I'm there.

Great capture for you both, how it swallows a perch with those dorsal fin spikes I don't know.

@gamelee It actually fed it to one of it's chicks who somehow managed to swallow it.

I thought of you when I was watching and waiting the other day. There was no catch for me.

What an amazing capture. How long do you have to sit and wait to come across a scene like this?
May 17th, 2020
@jyokota It depends how lucky you are but sometimes it's hours
May 17th, 2020
@stevejacob so do you photograph other birds during that time? Do you go with someone else to talk to? Do you listen to audiobooks in your ear buds? oh-so-curious
May 17th, 2020
@jyokota I focus on what's happening around me looking for any movement or listening for any sounds that might be a sign of wildlife. If you get tunnel vision on your prime target, you miss so much more. I never go with any-one else on a serious session as any movement or noise alerts the wildlife to your presence.

@stevejacob -- you must be incredibly patient and very, very quiet :) (neither things describe me)
May 17th, 2020
@jyokota I am very patient if the ending is worth the wait. It's the challenge that I live for and wildlife photography is definately a challenge
