Life in Thirds

This is Jake - my best friend. We rescued Jake 18 months ago from a no-kill shelter. Found him on the internet and drove 2 hours to take a look at him. He was pretty scrawny but happy. He had been at the shelter for 18 months and was 3 years old. That means he had 18 months somewhere before he was found wandering the streets. So he has had 3-third lives. I hope he thinks the last third has been the best. He is a wonderful and loyal dog....not perfect, but lots of fun and he give good hug!
He sounds amazing and he is gorgeous. We rescue a beautiful girl some years ago. We were lucky enough to have 3 wonderful years with her. As I am sure you can imagine, she had gone through a lot, and her health didn't last that much. I will post a picture of her some time soon. I still miss her a lot. Thank you for all your comments of my shots, I appreciate them.

Hi Jake! You are very handsome! We had a "Jake" that we rescued, too. He was just the best dog ever. So sweet!

What a sweet face and beautiful markings! It breaks my heart that he spent so long cooped up. I know you'll make the rest of his life something special. I've been aware that many people on 365 have rescued their animals; that's positively wonderful!

Nothing better than a rescue dog - I have two and would never have it any other way as they seem to know they have had a second chance. Good on you for taking in Jake - he is gorgeous.

Jake is so precious! Look how he is posing, so you can get a good picture of him. He seems to know his picture will be posted on 365, and everyone will ooh and ahh over him!

Jake is a fine looking boy...he looks like he was waiting for you to put down that camera so you could play ball with him!

Re: my railroad track photo...I actually took this shot out my car window with my car sitting on the railroad tracks! That's why I decided to add the rounded frame so you would see it as I did. Thanks for your nice comment.

So glad you found each other. Heartbreaking to think of all those wonderful pets-in-waiting in shelters.
