Breakfast Treat

Winter fruit grows very well here in the desert and we enjoy oranges, grapefruit and lemons all winter long. They are just getting ready for us to enjoy. We don't have near as much as last year as we trimmed the trees way back at the end of last season. Next year hopefully we will be loaded again!
How lovely to have freshly picked oranges for breakfast

The looks beautiful and delicious. Great to have them grow near you. We can grow them only in summer. In winter we `ve to give them protection for the cold. so we build glass/hot houses for them. This started in the 18 century end those houses are named : Orangerie . After the oranges

@pyrrhula I have heard of Orangerie before and never knew where the name came from. You are a walking encyclopedia!

Beautiful shot and framing. I would love to grow my own oranges. I know some people grow lemon trees here, but I have not heard of anyone here growing orange trees. Well, I can dream!

That must be awesome to be able to walk out the door and get your breakfast fruit right off the tree! Good shot!

The colors remind me of the 3 dwarf orange trees at the Southern California home I grew up in. Excellent choice of border to refer to the battered labels on orange crates. Well seen and photographed.

Lovely capture, not a mark on them. I love a good orange, we also grow quite a few of our fruits and there is nothing like it...

Oh they look so beautiful. I feel the juices flowing just thinking about them. I'm looking forward to my trip to FL. it will be delayed as I've to have another ablation and time to rest before I fly out to meet up with my hubby.
