Both of my photos for today were taken yesterday at Pier 1. If you don't know what Pier 1 is - you have missed out. It is a beautiful home decorating store that I love just to browse. I did feel a bit strange taking pictures but I don't think anyone saw me. (This picture was a large lamp base)
When I lived in California ( Stanford University) in the early 70’s there was a store in Palo Alto called Pier 1. Could it be the same one? I loved to shop there and I still have have some things which I brought back to the UK.
@susiemc Yes, Sue, it is the same store but completely changed. I remember Pier 1 from the 60's and 70's also. Mostly cute imported things. Nice but inexpensive. Lots from the Orient as we called it then. Now it is fairly high end decorating stuff. You should look them up just for fun to see how they have changed. At one time they even had a few clothing items. World Market (if you know that store - used to be Cost Plus) is more like what Pier 1 used to be. I like both!
