After all that sunshine we had freezing cold in Charleston when we were there. We were anchored in the main anchorage and stuck on our boat as the wind was howling and it was too rough and cold to get in the dinghy and go ashore. Here I was with family in town and I was stuck on the boat. Finally it broke just before Thanksgiving and we were able to get into the Marina and then have the holiday with our loved ones.
Can you see the cold in this picture? It was 47 degrees F in the cabin with no heat. This was NOT supposed to happen to us!!
I can just feel that wet cold that sinks into your bones, especially aboard a boat. As much as I'm sorry to hear you were stuck aboard in such miserable weather, it really does make for a beautiful shot!
Just like in life ashore, I suppose you'll experience an array of days on the boat as well. That temperature *does not* appeal to me...at that point I think I'd feel trapped...especially knowing my family was on shore!
What do you do when you are stuck out in the water, anchored and can't get to shore for a day or two? (and it's cold!) Read? Did you have telephone communication?
I can imagine how miserable you felt knowing that you had family waiting for you. Glad the weather broke in time for you to spend the holiday with them.
Wow - that is definitely a different life, isn't it. Sounds like a true adventure. I'd guess you had lots of layers on! Good you had internet... great shot, Suzie.
