This old schoolhouse is in St. Augustine and the sign says it is the oldest wooden schoolhouse in the United States. I thought it was charming but I am glad I didn't have to go to school in it - no air conditioning!
a real old one..I wonder what year it was built. your caption might not be complete as when i click on it nothing else comes up..so will try it a bit later
Great shot. Never mind no air!! No cars, shops, decent hospitals, dificult child birth ( should you even live) no washing machines and the list goes on...but I wont.
Our teacher friends on this project are probably glad that they don''t have to TEACH in this building as well. One Room school houses -- a memory from a different time. EXCEPT in Amish Country, PA where we visit whenever possible there are still many, many one-room school houses that are used every school day by the Amish children.
Nice shot of the schoolhouse- very charming. I like the textures and washed out color of the shingles. My eyes keep getting drawn to the chain; I'm assuming it's a decorative accent.
