This was quite an experience as we neared the PGA Bridge in North Palm Beach in Florida. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this sea plane coming up behind us and ran for my camera. Not everyday do you get to 'race' a sea plane to the next bridge. He arrived at the bridge before us and when it opened we saw him take off - but then he disappeared! We went through the open bridge and there he was upside down in a palm tree. I could see him sitting on the ground talking to someone so I knew he was OK. I sent my pictures to the television station and a friend who had a TV said they used them! Yea for me! We read that he had a broken leg. I think he was lucky that it wasn't worse!
Talk about being in the right place at the right time with your camera! Glad he wasn't more seriously hurt!
Thank you for all the kind comments on my theme shots from last week! I had a lot of fun with that theme since it's one of my favorite subjects. I was surprised, though, how hard it was to find what I had in mind when I was out looking specifically for decay. I think I had some good shots, but I never quite found what I was looking for.
You've had some exceedingly interesting encounters while aboard your boat...either of which would have been a once-in-a-lifetime occurance! You certainly got the photo-journalistic photos here, and no wonder they made it to the evening news! Ouch!
