Been away from 365 for a few weeks. Work, travel, and the end of a career all came to a head at the same time, taking away any available time for picture taking and 365ing. Missed you all and of course your photos. Today is my first official day as a retiree, and such interruptions should be a thing of the past
What a great new stage in your life, my dad has been retired 25 years now and is still so busy. My agapanthus just hasn't got going this year, yours is fab
Wow. Happy retirement Ron. I cracked my 10 years retired two weeks ago but it seems like yesterday.
In the months after I retired, I was often asked what it was like and I had a few stock standard responses - all of which are true statements:
"It seems as if I have been preparing my whole working life for this";
"If I had known it was going to be this good, I would never have gone to work in the first place";
"I don't know how I ever found time to go to work";
I think it is fair to say that if these ideas are true, then you are well and truly enjoying retirement. I certainly do.
Now about that trip Down Under you have been promising yourself . . . .
Hey Ron, first welcome to retirement. How was the motorcycle trip? Before I forget, I should comment on this photo. It is beautiful and very nicely captured. Fav!
Wow returned with a bang, congratulations on making the Trending and Popular pages with this great image Ron, you have set the bar high with your return image, best wishes for a long and happy retirement the fun starts now:)
Congrats on the PP. Its all downhill from here :-)
Oh and another one, when people ask what I do all day I always say "I have no bloody idea but whatever it is, I'm always very busy doing it."
jealous! i am still 3 years away from retirement and couldn't wait for it to come. and what a comeback you got here, mr. retired person! love the colours and congrats on pp!
@terryliv Thanks so much for the gift Terry! You helped get my first photo in weeks to the big time pages! How do I live up to that now?!?
I can identify and will make liberal use of all of your responses to the retirement comments. Love those!
As for my upcoming trip down under, I'm doing research and trying to figure out how best to avoid doing it by air. That limits me some.
@onewing Thank you kindly, Babs. Yeah, I'm already experiencing that "how did I have time?" phenomenon. Weird. Hang on, summer will be here before you know it! And the Agapanthus too!
@thirdjoe Hi Joe! The trip and rally were great! Unfortunately I had to bug out immediately upon returning and pretty much haven't stopped yet. Look for a photo posted today relative to some of the events while at Laughlin. Thanks very much for the comments and the fav!
@pcoulson Gulp! What a surprise to post what I thought was sort of a ho-hum shot. Many thanks, Peter, for your helping to get my return photo on the Trending and Popular pages. I fear I may never equal that! Good to be back and I appreciate the comments. :-)
@lyndemc Somehow I knew purple and green were your colors, Denise. ;-) I have especially missed your always thoughtful and insightful comments. Thanks to you too for the fav. A big surprise to join the highbrow crowd.
@888rachel Thanks Rachel! Happy to be both retired and back. If you saw Poppo's comments, I do intend to make my way to your fair land here in the near future with my newly abundant free time. Must get together during my visit - would love to get some tips from you!
@joysfocus Thanks Joy! Yeah, that working has a way of messing with one's quality of life, huh? Hang in there - you'll be idle too before too long I'm sure.
@cjphoto Thank you kindly, Chris. I have truly missed all of the photos, interactions, and motivations on this great site. Really appreciate your comments.

Lovely shot. Winter here as of yesterday so no agapanthus here for a while yet.
