All Aboard! by stray_shooter

All Aboard!

The San Juan Capistrano train station has a unique character to it. Almost Disney-esque, except it's real.

There has been a lot of unrest recently because the trains go through at night and per regulations must blow the whistle in a certain pattern. However, local quiet zone regulations conflict with the federal requirements. At this time I believe the local rules have priority.

What I learned in taking this photo: Government regulations require trains to blow their horns in a certain pattern at crossings.
Great leading line from the tracks and overall composition.

Fabulous perspective and love those gorgeous buildings. Viewing on black really throws those colours forward.

Very much like something from a wild west film set to me Ron, simply gorgeous lead in lines, great depth of field with detail all the way through to the vanishing point in superb colour, Fav:)

@jorlam Thanks so much - I was going to suggest black, but was worried about it getting monotonous. Maybe the default view should be on black!

@pcoulson Really appreciate your kind detailed comments Peter. It really does have an old west feel to it - the whole town has been diligent in retaining the original feel and appearance - original being just a couple of hundred years in this case. That qualifies as ancient in these parts!

@aglennc Thanks Anita - I knew you'd recognize that spot. I want to go back with the wide angle lens and see what that perspective looks like.

@stray_shooter i agree that the default needs to be black - then for the very few that don't sit well on it the option would be white..

I like your "what I learned" comments a lot - this one in particular. Might be simple trivia, but simple trivia can sparkle unexpected ideas.
