Need Help With Those Bags?

The lady in front of me in line at the Target store had a service dog that redefines the concept of "service."

What I learned in taking this photo: Take your camera EVERYWHERE with you! I had to resort to the cell phone....which actually turned out OK.
That dog has taken service to a whole new level and is going to made service dogs everywhere, much less all the other dogs, look pretty lazy.

Well done Ron, quick thinking and reactions..

my dog, whose image i use as 'me' insisted on looking through my bags and would choose which item to carry home.. not trained to do it, just naturally helpful..
i greatly admire Service dogs - but also their trainers who devote themselves to this work..

The best camera you can use, is the one you have with you. My photo teacher told me that and like the good girl scout that I am, the iphone will do well in many situations.

Yep! Always need a camera for moments like this :)

What a great moment there

Pays to have a camera with you when out and about Ron, the camera phones have improved no end and most have those with us most times:)

Don't you just hate it when you don't have your camera? You did well here though!

Always ready with a helping hand, or should I rather say mouth! Service dogs give their people so much extra independence.

Great candid shot

And he's so patient! Awesome candid!

What a well trained dog!

Hey, they have a whole category for cell phones at the Del Mar Fair. OOPS. SD fair.
What a cutie

@taffy Agreed Taffy - a new standard. I'll bet all the other dogs just hate him.

@olenadole Thanks Nadiya - right place, right time. Just lucky.
January 27th, 2017
@jorlam That's fascinating! Makes you wonder how they pick up this ability to carry items for us. Amazing creatures they are.

@joysfocus Agreed Joy. The cameras in the new phones are so good it's a little bit scary. I saw in an article on Fstoppers that it's estimated that 3.5 trillion photos have been taken throughout history, and it's expected that 1.2 trillion will be taken in 2017 alone. That's just crazy.

@gilbertwood Now I know YOU always have a camera in hand Denise. The rest of us are probably not quite as diligent. ;-)
January 27th, 2017
@joannakate Thanks Joanna - lucky timing is all.
January 27th, 2017
@pcoulson Thanks Peter. Along with other useless facts (as I related to Joy above) is the amazing fact that thanks to the advent of digital cameras and camera phones, more photos are taken in two minutes today than were taken in all of the 1800's!!

@dianen Thanks Diane - I genuinely do hate it when I don't have my camera in hand - because I'm always afraid I'll miss something like this! For a number of reasons I actually have two smart phones, both of which have amazingly good cameras.

@salza Thank you kindly Sally. They really are amazing animals.
January 27th, 2017
@bkbinthecity Thanks Brian - a moment of panic actually as I was fumbling for the phone. Luckily his owner was taking her time paying. Gave me the chance to zap off a couple of shots.
January 27th, 2017
@cjphoto He really was patient, Chris. His owner was taking her time paying and he just stood there with the bag in his mouth until it was time to leave. Great doggy!

@naomi Thanks Naomi! He sure was a cool dog. Seemed very happy to be helping.

@tigerdreamer Ha, yeah, we all know it as the Del Mar fair. Oddly enough, I was just taking the first of two iPhone photography classes tonight. I discovered all kinds of interesting things about cell phone photography that I did not know previously. May just have to submit a few entries!

Great photo.
January 27th, 2017
@stray_shooter sounds like a fun class. What was the best thing you learned?
January 31st, 2017
@tigerdreamer Some of the apps that can really enhance iPhone photos can really do a great job. One called Pro HDR X really does a nice job! One more class this Thursday and I'll be even more enlightened. ;-)
