My second week of iPhone photo training has resulted in some pretty impressive results. I don't think I could have done any better with the DSLR. That saddens me a bit.
What I learned in taking this photo: Some of the downloadable apps for the iPhone are well worth the relatively small investment. You can almost simulate the utilities available in the bigger, more expensive (and heavier) cameras.
This is a gorgeous photo! Did you truly find a place that teaches phone photography? Any time someone hands me a phone and asks me to take a picture for them, it's the most unsteady feel...I'm amazed if they're happy with the pictures! We have SO MUCH I'd like to talk about now regarding cameras! You've been making a lot of changes, as I seem to narrow down and down...but only for the health reasons at present.
Simply stunning result I would not have expected a result this quality of from a mobile phone, I'm very impressed Ron surely a lot can be attributed to the skill of the user in composition and an eye for a good shot, if there is a Nikon D750 becoming redundant shortly please let me know, lol:)
You are kidding?!! This was taken on a cell phone? And a cell phone photo class? Where did you find that? This is absolutely stunning. I forget to take photos on my cell. Too busy using my "big" camera, I guess. Carried two of them with me yesterday, one with my new fisheye on it to tr it out. This is a FAV for sure..
@summerfield Truly amazing! Even back in 2010 there were people who joined with plans to do just cell phone photography, and I was impressed the pictures looked so good! And Now! It makes sense that people have their phones with them all the time...personally I just can't hold it steady like I can grip a larger camera... @stray_shooter Vikki to the rescue!
@Weezilou - now lookie, i just read what i wrote "shop camera Henry's". should be *camera shop* hahaha! mein gott! i'm a dolt. but you know, they're also the ones to tell you that the photos may be only good for blow up/framing up to a certain extent. in other words, the real camera is still the real deal. good night, my lady.
Beautiful scene you've iCaptured. I have such mixed emotions about cell phones taking such great photos — I don't want to be tempted to leave my camera behind because I know I'm going to have my cell phone with me. Makes me go "Grrrrr" every time my brain utters that abominable thought. But dang, this is such a great result.

@Weezilou - iPhoneography is a whole new course at the local college here and also being offered by the shop camera Henry's.
