Does This Lipstick Make Me Look Fat?

Looks like this great blue turaco is ready for a night on the town. And no, that's not really lipstick. I seem to be on this kick featuring birds with goofy crowns on their heads. Hopefully it's just a phase I'm going through.

What I learned in taking this photo: It IS possible to shoot through a fence or cage with minimal effects. I had to zoom in almost to the max and put the lens right up against the cage, but if I hadn't told you, your probably would not have suspected the presence of the cage.
If this is a phase, keep it up Ron !!! Unreal colours, fascinating bird, fav

Now THIS one makes me think of Frida Kahlo! Love the background (bokeh) too. Fabulous. Fav!

Ha ha, brilliant, I bet she is a popular girl.
March 16th, 2017
no, but the mohawk does. :-D

What a fabulous bird! Love the lipstick although I think that colour makes her look a bit tarty! A girl has to be careful! Lol!

Incredible capture of this exotic bird in lipstick! Ha ha!
March 16th, 2017
Ahahaha what a comment! Great capture of a strange looking bird.

I'm enjoying your sense of humor as much as I like your photography.
March 16th, 2017
awesome depth of field!
March 16th, 2017
What a great looking bird beautifully captured Ron, must admit I thought you had found a fancy background to shoot against:)
March 16th, 2017
Well done!

Such a beautiful bird
March 17th, 2017
A bird I don't have!!! What a gorgeous one! Which zoo or park? You got a wonderful photo!
March 17th, 2017
Last trip to the zoo, I found I could focus on something at about the same distance as the animal was from me, then turned and the animal was in focus! It worked about 90% of the time in the animal/bird was far enough away from the cage next to me!
March 17th, 2017
Oh my gosh! That is so funny and reminds me of something I cannot put on the internet.
March 17th, 2017
@joannakate Oh no, I'm stuck with a theme! Thanks Joanna. ;-)
March 17th, 2017
@louannwarren I have to admit to having to look up Frida Kahlo. ;-) Having done that, I must agree! Thanks Lou Ann.
March 17th, 2017
@terryliv Yeah, I'm a little jealous myself. On the other hand, Fred Flintstone could use him for a shaving brush.
March 17th, 2017
@onewing Interesting, you think it's a girl, Poppo thinks it's a dude. I guess thats Queensland vs. NSW? ;-)
March 17th, 2017
@summerfield Mohawks are rarely complimentary.....except for Filipinos, of course.
March 17th, 2017
@pamknowler You literal made me just LOL Pam! Thanks for the comments.
March 17th, 2017
@redy4et Thanks Elizabeth!
March 17th, 2017
@hunnybee Thanks so much. Glad you enjoyed and glad you came by to comment.
March 17th, 2017
@gilbertwood Thanks Denise - surely you have these by the hundreds in Victoria, right?
March 17th, 2017
@jorlam Oh no, another one wants me to continue a trend! I'm being labeled! OK, I'll try. ;-)
March 17th, 2017
@angiedanielle24 Thanks Angie - glad you liked the shot. :-)
March 17th, 2017
@cottiac Thanks Cottia. Those are some pretty special eyes and lashes, aren't they? And thanks for the suggestion to view on black - that is pretty cool!
March 17th, 2017
@tunia Thanks Tunia - and thanks for the follow too! I hope to live up to your expectations!
March 17th, 2017
@kurtl525 Thanks Kurtis. Actually, the DoF was sort of out of necessity. In order to make the cage disappear I had to move close to the bird, thus reducing the focal length and leaving me with no choice but to live with a blurred background. Unfortunately these birds have a beautiful tail that I was unable to capture. Ya take what ya can I guess. Thanks for stopping by.
March 17th, 2017
@pcoulson Thanks very much Peter. As I explained to Kurtis above I was really kind of forced into a shallow depth of field in trying to make the cage disappear. I just can't get away from these blurred backgrounds! Thanks for commenting.

@taffy Thanks Taffy, I appreciate it.
March 17th, 2017
@bkbinthecity Thank you Brian. They are even more pretty when you see the entire thing - the tail feathers are very colorful too. Maybe I'll be able to get one of those shots soon.
March 17th, 2017
@Weezilou Thanks Louise. Wow, a bird that you haven't gotten. A rare find! This guy was at Wild Animal Park. Just past the lorikeets I believe.
March 17th, 2017
@stray_shooter Probably transgender @terryliv
March 17th, 2017
@joysfocus I'll bet someone else has put it on the internet. ;-) Thanks very much for the feedback Joy.
March 17th, 2017
Nope!!!
March 17th, 2017
This is hilarious!
March 19th, 2017
Note to you: I did it! I finished and ordered three 12 x 12 zoo books! Those things sometimes take on a direction of their own, so for all my thought-out process, I didn't use your cheetah after all, but did use this bird! I had a compilation of crazy chapeaus, and the lipstick put this one over the top! Thanks for allowing me!
