Flamingo Friday - 029 by stray_shooter

Flamingo Friday - 029

Here's how I imagine this conversation went:
Where's the food guy?
Over There
Where?
There?
No there
Where?
Wait, over there?
Where?
There?
I see him - there?
Where?
...and so on.

and the one on the lower right said: my! you got hairy legs! :-D

David Attenborough?? Lovely shot

Wow, look at the group- beautiful!
March 17th, 2017
Looks like it's girls night out to me! Handbags on the floor all dancing together. Lol! Love these beauties! Fav!

Brilliant - both the image and the imaginary conversation.. i think the collective noun for Flamingos suits them so well in this delightful shot.. it is a Flamboyance of flamingos.. and they are flamboyant.. in both their looks and habits too.. who else tips their head upside down to eat/drink or looks so gawky but glares down their nose with a supercilious stare...
i love their rings - other birds have them by their ankle but these show-offs wear them as though they are jewellery, flaunting the colours.. a fab shot of these crazy birds..

Great - like the meerkat one saying 'Alan" https://youtu.be/XgvR3y5JCXg

A wonderful observation Ron, lovely focus, detail and colour in brilliant light, they always look very regal, elegant, stylish and just a little upper class to me:)
March 17th, 2017
Ha ha, love the conversation. I think the little one is saying 'You are all wrong, it is down here'
March 17th, 2017
Ha Ha How about this:
There's that dude with the camera, AGAIN
Lets go over and feather him
You do it,
No I did it last time;
No you didn't Fanny did;
Then Its Freddy's turn;
No it's Felicity's
Where's Felicity anyway . . . . .
March 18th, 2017
Fabulous!
March 18th, 2017
Okay, they almost look fake, or plastic, like yard ornaments arranged in a flamboyance of flamingos. The view on black is Wow!
March 18th, 2017
Fab capture with the one flamingo on the right ducking under the crowd!
March 18th, 2017
hahahaa Cool!
March 18th, 2017
This is not only colorful but stunningly beautiful. The are, indeed, lovely birds.....
March 18th, 2017
Your caption made me laugh, as did Terry's @terryliv I'm always aware of their eyes, a bit unreal, maybe" glow in the dark" eyes, terrific, a fav
March 18th, 2017
Love your photo and comments Ron :) Was gunna write a similar response but I see Terry @terryliv has already done it so I won't bother!!! fav though!
March 18th, 2017
Ha ha, your flamingo Fridays make me laugh every week! Love the dialogue :)
March 18th, 2017
Amazing colours! I saw some flamingos this week. Took a few pics and I hope to have one or two worth posting. The ones I saw though are so pale compared to these ones that they could be off white!
March 18th, 2017
Fav photo and great storytelling! Love it!
March 18th, 2017
@terryliv Very very funny!
March 18th, 2017

March 18th, 2017
Love this pink gathering, fav
March 18th, 2017
Good one! The conversation made me laugh!
March 19th, 2017
I am delighted to be partnered with you for this week's get pushed challenge. I really enjoyed cruising through your latest album at all your awesome work.
I noticed that you like to freeze the action in your action shots with a quick shutter speed. I would like to see you break that rule and slow down your shutter speed to make for some action shots that out of the ordinary for you for this week's challenge. Panning, perhaps but not necessarily.
March 19th, 2017
Their faces look really angry! and kind of silly at the same time.
March 19th, 2017
Haha, love your narrative. I can just imagine :)
March 19th, 2017

@joysfocus Hey, thanks for heads up Joy! I had no idea! Seem like you should receive some kind of notice when that happens. Very honored though!
March 19th, 2017
@farmreporter Challenge accepted Wendy. A great suggestion. I have detailed your challenge on your dreamhouse photo. Thanks!
March 19th, 2017
Your narrative was so funny! They seem to be such social birds!
March 20th, 2017
@summerfield Ha, that made me laugh! I was trying to think of something he might be saying, but couldn't come up with anything clever, so just left it. You filled in nicely!
March 21st, 2017
@rookynook OK, I had to admit looking up David Attenborough, and then it dawned on me who he was. Having spent a bit of time living in your fair land, one couldn't possibly escape a quote or two and his inimitable wit. I'm sure he would love such a flock of flamingos. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

@jorlam Well, I have learned something - and that always makes me happy! So a flamboyance is what a group of flamingos is called. Very interesting - and I agree that it's pretty appropriate. Thanks as always for your details and poignant input!
March 21st, 2017
@maggiemae Ha ha, that is awesome! Thanks for the laugh - I believe the flamingos could indeed by having the same conversation. :-) Thanks Maggie.
March 21st, 2017
@pcoulson Thanks Peter for the kind words. I agree they have a certain elegance to them - and a somewhat goofy look all at the same time. I do enjoy capturing photos of them - obviously! :-)
March 21st, 2017
@onewing Thanks Babs. As I explained to Vikki, I was trying to come up with something for the little one - you came through too!

@lyndemc You know I actually have a flamboyance of flamingos in my yard (2 in mine, and the back yard). That's probably no surprise to you. They look nothing like these guys, but OK, I'll play along. ;-) Thanks for your comments as always, Denise, and thanks for the suggestion to view on black. That does look pretty cool!
March 21st, 2017

@joannakate Thanks Joanna. Poppo's conversation made me laugh too. Fun with flamingos! FYI, these guys with the orange/red eyes are members of the lesser flamingo breed, native to South Africa. Kind of creepy looking if you ask me.
